From Fort Collins, take Hwy 1/ Terry Lake Road to County Road 15 north (towards Waverly). From CR 15, turn north onto Rawhide Flats Road and continue north to the entrance station. Please respect our neighbors and be safe by observing the speed limit, especially on gravel roads to prevent dust.
Trail Information
Closed December, January and February. Soapstone Prairie Natural Area adjoins Red Mountain Open Space. Soapstone contains over 30 miles of trails open to bikes which can be combined with the 8+ miles of trails at Red Mountain to make for a long day of riding. Soapstone is remote, has no water and is exposed. Bring water, food and extra clothing. Don't count on cell phone reception and do NOT ride alone. Dogs are not allowed. Some trails are closed to mountain bikes, so bring a map or pick one up at the gate.
