ELECTION MEETING TONIGHT, SOCIAL RIDE CHANGE, HELP NEEDED

ELECTIONS AND MONTHLY MEETING TONIGHT
Possibly the most important monthly meeting of the year is tonight upstairs at the Rio in the Agave Room at 6:30. A few good souls will talk about why they want to serve on the Overland Board of Directors. Everyone will have a chance to ask questions. The vote will then take place via the internet for roughly two weeks following the meeting. This election cycle we have 4 seats to elect. Thuan, Bill and Lisa have another year left on their term. Pete's term is up but he plans to run again (Thanks Pete!) If Pete is re-elected, that leaves 3 open seats on this year's board.
If you are interested in running for a seat, please come tonight and be prepared to state why you'd like to be a board member. Be prepared to answer a few questions. And thanks to those of you who will run for the board. I can say it's been one of the most rewarding experiences I've had.
Specifics: Board members are elected for a two year term. Board positions are decided amongst the board. Positions held: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Communications Director and Tech Director. The other two positions are fluid based on needs.
SINGLETRACK SOCIAL - BACK AT SPRING CANYON - NEW TIME - LAST TWO WEEKS
We're running out of daylight so two changes to the social ride.
1. It's back at the end of Horsetooth Road at Spring Canyon Park. Please park down by the skate park.
2. It starts at 5:30. Please be ready to ride. It's getting dark at 7 so rides will have to be shorter.
VOLUNTEERS DESPERATELY NEEDED - PRETTY PLEASE
The fired up summer pushed a lot of stuff off until the end of the season. We've got two events we need help with. The first one is this Saturday, Sept. 29 at Curt Gowdy. It's the awesome Stone Temple 8 race. We have needs for many volunteers and really need your help. SIGN UP HERE.
Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day is October 6th. A great day with kids on bikes. We have a variety of slots open for volunteers for this too. You won't be disappointed with this one. SIGN UP HERE.
And if you know any kids who want to ride. Have their parents SIGN THEM UP HERE.
THANKS TO...
Ronny and Ali Bush for hosting last week's Social Ride. All the folks who showed up for the 40 and volunteered. All the folks who showed up at the trail day this past Saturday at Reservoir Ridge. Thanks to Steve Lacey and Doug Cutter for organizing the trail day with Peloton Cycles. Overland is completely volunteer based and would not function without you. Thank you.
SPECIAL OFFER - TAILWIND
Jeff at Tailwind has offered us all a discount on product. He was a sponsor at 40 in the Fort. Go to Tailwind Nutrition. Enter this code: overland15.
OUR POINTS HELP US SHOW VOLUNTEER HOURS
If you haven't been adding your name to events that you participate in, please do. This is how we track our volunteer numbers and get them to our partners. Out of 317 members, we show only 87 people volunteering this year. This can't be possible. You can go back through the entire season and add your name to any event you participated in. Please help us get our numbers straight. Go to Member Resources . Click on the Schedule tab. Search "View Events By Month" and add your name. Thanks for helping us out. This will also help us with our end of the season awards coming up in October.
JOIN OR RENEW NOW
If you still need that push to join or renew your membership, consider yourself pushed. It's easy. The link is right HERE.
