RAIN, RAIN. Some much needed moisture has finally come. I hope none of you have had any flooding or other negative effects from the precipitation. I also hope you've manage to stay off the trails for a bit so that the ground can recover. And believe it or not, you can get a decent workout climbing the dams on your mountain bike. In fact, better than your road bike. Climbing the north dam with fat tires is nothing short of tedious. Anyway, I digress. Looks like we could still get some more rain. This week's social ride could be cancelled. Keep an eye out on our Facebook page and the Overland website.
OVER $4300 RAISED AT RACE BENEFIT FOR HIGH PARK FIRE
Last week, we were lucky enough to be involved with an amazing event. Ronny Bush, along with Dan Porter of Your Group Ride hosted a Short Track race on Monday night. The proceeds went to benefit the Rist Canyon Fire Department which lost its station to the fire. The goal was to make $2,000. We raised more than double that. Thanks to everyone who made the event happen. And thanks to Katherine, Gordon, Pete, Ron, Thuan, Jen, Sean, Cole and Ella for helping us get hot dogs and chips into hungry people's hands. This really was a special event. (And Ronny's singletrack is pretty darn cool.)
SINGLETRACK SOCIAL - BACK TO BLUE SKY
Whether the weather holds and we can ride on Wednesday remains to be seen. If we can, we'll be back to our normal meeting place, the
Blue Sky Trailhead. Hope to see you there. For more info on Singletrack Socials.
SUPPORT H.S. MOUNTAIN BIKING
The Urban Assault Ride hits the Fort this weekend. Ciclismo Youth Foundation who brought high school mountain biking to Fort Collins needs volunteers. This is a good fundraiser for them. You can sign up
here.

SUMMER CAMPOUT WITH CURT
Overland members and families are invited to our annual Curt Gowdy campout the weekend of July 21. We camp at Camp Jack, ride bikes, eat and be merry. A family friendly event. Exclusive to Overland members only. You're responsible for all of your meals except for Saturday night when the club barbecues on our famous handmade grill. Please
sign up on our website if you plan to go so we can arrange for food. So far, we have 10 sign-ups. We generally have about 50 folks come out. Please make sure to sign up. Also, if you haven't been to Curt Gowdy, the closest place to restock supplies is back in Cheyenne. Bring what you need so you don't have to drive.
MEMBERSHIP HAS ITS... DUES?
Okay, so I threw this out last week and not one person renewed. Hmmm.... Here goes again....My buddy Chris mentioned that he hadn't paid his membership dues this season. Are you that guy/gal too? If you answered yes, you can easily take care of that right
here. $23 for an individual. $38 for a household membership. Pricey? No. Important? Yes. And if your name is Chris, you can use this
link.
FORTY IN THE FORT - REGISTRATION OPEN AGAIN
As you know, we postponed the race due to the High Park Fire. It will now roll out on September 15. This, of course, meant that some folks would have scheduling conflicts and would open up more spots for others. The registration is now open. Visit the
Overland website for more info if you want to join in the fun. If you have already registered for the original date, you don't need to re-register.
